Quick answers for buyers importing from India, exporters joining SHELROCK, and anyone preparing a sourcing requirement.

What information should I include in a sourcing requirement?

Start with the product, specification or quality expectation, quantity, delivery destination and any commercial conditions that matter to you. If some details are still open, submit what you know and the SHELROCK team can help structure the remaining brief.

Can I submit a product that is not listed on SHELROCK?

Yes. The catalogue shows current sourcing focus, not a closed list. Use the requirement form to describe an unlisted product and SHELROCK can evaluate the sourcing route from India.

Do I need a complete technical specification before I submit?

No. A complete specification improves supplier comparison, but you can begin with a product name, intended use, reference image, benchmark sample or key requirements. Missing specification points can be clarified before supplier selection.

What quantity should I enter if I do not know the final MOQ?

Enter your expected order quantity or a realistic range. MOQ can vary by product, supplier, packaging, private-label requirement and production method, so it can be confirmed during sourcing.

Can I submit a requirement without a target price?

Yes. A target price is useful when you have one, but it is not mandatory. SHELROCK can first evaluate supplier fit, specification, quantity and delivery conditions before commercial comparison.

Can I request samples before placing a bulk order?

Yes, where samples are practical and the selected supplier can provide them. Sample cost, courier cost, lead time and whether the sample is representative of bulk production are confirmed case by case.

What happens after I submit my requirement?

Your requirement is reviewed for product clarity, quantity, destination and commercial readiness. SHELROCK can then identify the appropriate sourcing route, clarify missing details and coordinate the next buyer-side step before any order commitment.

Does submitting a requirement commit me to buy?

No. Submitting a requirement starts the sourcing and evaluation process. Any commercial commitment should happen only after you have reviewed the relevant specification, quotation, terms and execution conditions.

Can SHELROCK help buyers importing from India to the UK?

Yes. SHELROCK is designed around India sourcing and can connect product sourcing, supplier coordination, quality readiness, documentation and logistics planning in one buyer journey. Exact import obligations still depend on the product and destination.

Can I use SHELROCK for destinations outside the UK?

Yes. The platform can evaluate India-origin sourcing for other international destinations as well. Delivery, documentation, labelling, taxes and border requirements are assessed according to the destination and product.

Who handles supplier or factory verification?

SHELROCK's India-side sourcing process can evaluate supplier fit, product capability, capacity, readiness and commercial feasibility before a supplier is progressed for a buyer requirement.

Can SHELROCK coordinate quality checks and packing readiness?

Yes. Quality and readiness coordination can include agreed specifications, packing requirements, order-readiness checks and supplier handoff control. The exact inspection or testing scope is defined according to the product and buyer requirement.

Can I ask for private-label or custom packaging?

Yes. Add the private-label, branding, packaging, barcode, carton, size, colour or other customisation requirement in your brief. Feasibility, MOQ, artwork requirements and lead time are then checked with suitable suppliers.

What shipping terms can I request?

You can state your preferred commercial or delivery basis, such as EXW, FOB, CIF or another agreed Incoterm, if you already have one. If not, SHELROCK can help structure the route so quotations are compared on a clearer basis.

Will SHELROCK prepare all import or export documents for me?

SHELROCK can coordinate the trade-document workflow connected to the order, but the exact documents and responsible issuing parties vary by product, shipment, supplier, carrier and destination. Requirements are confirmed before movement.

I am an Indian manufacturer or exporter. Should I use this buyer form?

For supplier or exporter onboarding, use the Export page instead. That route is designed for Indian manufacturers, exporters and suppliers who want their capability reviewed and products considered for the SHELROCK network.

Why does the requirement form ask for a business email and buyer access?

The business email connects your sourcing requirement to a buyer workspace so future clarification, commercial progress and execution updates can stay tied to the same requirement instead of being scattered across separate conversations.

How is the information in my requirement used?

The information is used to evaluate and progress your sourcing request, including product clarification, supplier matching and execution planning. Avoid entering passwords, payment-card data or unrelated confidential information in free-text fields.

Can I submit more than one product requirement?

Yes. For materially different products, separate requirements are usually clearer because specifications, MOQs, suppliers, pricing and delivery routes can differ. Related variants can be grouped when they share the same sourcing brief.

Should I use SHELROCK AI or the requirement form?

Use SHELROCK AI when you want help structuring an early idea or figuring out what information matters. Use the requirement form when you are ready to create a formal sourcing brief that the team can review and progress.
